Kemi Adeosun is the Honourable Minister for Finance. She is a seasoned finance professional with over 25 years of finance experience gained in the United Kingdom and Nigeria. Her expertise spans Audit, Risk, Management Consultancy, Investment Banking, Pensions Administration and Public Sector Financial Management. She has held senior roles in various institutions including BT Plc and PricewaterhouseCoopers in the UK. In Nigeria, she joined the Chapel Hill Denham Group in 2002 as Financial Controller and rose to become Managing Director until her resignation in 2010 to start her own consultancy – The Quo Vadis Partnership.

Prior to her appointment as Minister, Kemi was Commissioner for Finance in Ogun State, one of Nigeria’s fastest growing States and is the first woman to have held this position. At Ogun State, Kemi is credited with the introduction of a range of innovative structures which resulted in the aggressive growth of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) by over 500%. She introduced the Centralized Treasury System (Treasury Single Account) culminating in significant fund recovery and reduced borrowing costs, spearheaded the Residency Rule campaign which resulted in over 100,000 additional taxpayers who worked outside the State remitting their taxes to Ogun State rather than the State of their employment. She was also a key member of the Homeowner’s Charter project.

She is passionate about financial empowerment for women and it is a subject on which she writes and speaks extensively. Kemi authored a popular weekly personal finance column aimed at women and published in This Day Style Magazine. In 2009, she was invited to speak at the Global Summit for Women in Chile.

Kemi holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Sector Financial Management from the University of London (School of Oriental And African Studies) as well as a BSc Hons degree in Applied Economics from University of East London. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (ICAEW) and has 22 years post qualification experience. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Nigeria (ICAN) and has attended various Executive Management Programmes including courses in Strategic Leadership at the prestigious Wharton Business School.


Aisha Abubakar is the Honourable Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment. She has over two decades of professional experience covering Public Service Administration, Pension, Investment Banking, SME Finance/Rural Enterprise Development & Micro Credit Administration, International Development and Human Resource Management. Prior to her appointment as Minister of State, Aisha was the pioneer Director of the Customs, Immigration and Prisons department at the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD).

She has held senior roles in various institutions including the African Development Bank (AfDB) Lagos and Abidjan, and Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) where she rose through the ranks from Head of Human Resource, Administration, Company Secretary, and Executive Director Finance and Administration to become the Managing Director/CEO, in 2015.

Under her leadership, AEA successfully accessed and managed the disbursement of two streams of SME Loans amounting to N2billion from CBN and N150 Million from the FCT, set up a Microfinance Bank (MFB) in Kwali, FCT, commissioned the 1st Entrepreneurial Complex for SME Start-Ups in the FCT and set up a Shea Butter Village in Abaji Area of the FCT. The agency also received the Global Citizen Movement Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in leadership in 2013, in New York City, USA for being a model for entrepreneurial development as a way to lift people and communities out of extreme poverty and serving as a model for the rest of the world.

Her work experience has focused principally on Small and Micro Enterprise Development, Women Development and Family Livelihood Enhancement.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick and a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from the University of Leeds.


Titi Odunfa Adeoye is the Founder and Managing Director of Sankore Investments, an investment platform that deploys capital across a range of asset classes on behalf of individuals and institutions. Sankore also runs an innovation arm that focuses on building new ventures and enabling early stage enterprises in industries that are strategically important to the firm. Prior to founding Sankore Investments, Titi was Head of Investment Strategy at Zenith Capital, the investment banking subsidiary of Zenith Bank Nigeria. In her role, she led teams responsible for investment/portfolio management, research, and new product development within the asset management business.

At Goldman Sachs in New York, Titi worked as a member of a team responsible for research, investment strategy, asset allocation and investment decisions for private wealth management funds totalling about $1 billion. In this capacity, she developed research and investment expertise across a range of geographies and asset classes.

Her experience also covers restructuring, consulting, accounting and auditing with KPMG Consulting and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Washington DC.

She holds a Master degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School, a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting (summa cum laude) from Howard University and is a Certified Public Accountant registered in Washington D.C.


Tony Okpanachi is the Managing Director and CEO of Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN). Prior to his current role at DBN, he served as the Deputy Managing Director, Ecobank Nigeria, Managing Director, Ecobank Kenya and Cluster Managing Director for East Africa (comprising Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan and Ethiopia). He was also at various times, Managing Director of Ecobank Malawi and Regional Coordinator in Ecobank for Lagos and South West, Nigeria. A seasoned Banker with over 26 years’ experience, Tony Okpanachi’s banking career spans several areas including Treasury;Corporate & Retail Banking; Corporate Finance; Strategic Planning;Ecobank Nigeria Limited.

Human Resources; Information System Management; Administration and Corporate communications. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (FCIS); Honorary Senior Member, Chartered Institute of Banking of Nigeria (HCIB); Member, Institute of Banking of Malawi; Associate Member, Nigeria Institute of Management (AMNIM) and Fellow Institute of Credit Administration (FICA).

Tony holds a Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Manchester Business School UK and a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of Lagos. He was the best graduating M.Sc. Economics Student at the University of Lagos in 1989 and also won the Abubakar Usman Memorial Prize for the best graduating student of the Economics Department, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1987.


Tara Fela-Durotoye is the founder and current C.E.O House of Tara International. She is a lawyer turned beauty entrepreneur who pioneered the bridal make up profession in Nigeria. In a series of firsts, Tara launched the first bridal directory in Nigeria in 1999, set up the first make up studio in 2004 and established the country’s first make up school in 2005. She also launched the Tara Product Line and hosted Nigeria’s first Make-Up Conference in 2014. House of Tara has become a national brand with 22 branches and over 150 employees. The brand has a presence in most major cities across the country and distribution channels in Kenya and Rwanda with a plan to expand to other cities in Africa, Europe and North America.

Under her leadership, the House of Tara business case study was researched and written by Stanford University and is currently being used by Ivy League Institutions.

Tara sits on the advisory board of Awesome Treasures Foundation and Bridge International Academies which is the world’s largest education innovation company.

She has been featured on CNN African voices and was recognized by the World Economic Forum as a young global leader 2013, Forbes list of 20 young power women in Africa 2013 and Choiseul Institute of France Top 100 young African business leaders under 40 in 2014.

She has received several national and international Awards for her contribution to the industry and active role in Entrepreneurship and Empowerment. The most recent award been the Inspirational woman of the year 2016 by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) and Leadership Award for Entrepreneurship by Harvard Business School Association of Nigeria (HBSAN).

She started the “Tara Fela Durotoye Series” (TFD Series) in 2015 as an initiative to mentor, empower and support women between the ages of 25-35. The TFD series achieves its mission by fostering impactful and life changing dialogue and mentorship between women and dynamic thought leaders across a broad range of areas including business, relationships, home and spirituality.

She has empowered over 5000 young ladies with the Tara beauty representatives’ initiative that makes them economically independent while building their entrepreneurial skills for national transformation.

Tara is an Alumni of the Lagos Business School (LBS).


M.D Abubakar is currently the Managing Director / CEO of L&Z Integrated Farms Nigeria Limited and the Chairman of L&Z Dairy fresh, marketing arm of the Farm. As a former banker, he has over a decade of experience in development and commercial banking. He is an Executive Leadership Member of the Nigeria Agribusiness Group (NABG) as well as the Interim Chairman of the umbrella body, Association of Commercial Dairy Farmers in Nigeria (Commercial Dairy Ranchers Association of Nigeria).

He has been a member of numerous Federal and State Government Committees on repositioning and financing the Agricultural sector, chaired boards of various Federal Institutions as well as pioneered the setting up of various Government Agricultural projects.

He is a former Chairman of the Poultry Association of Nigeria (Kano State chapter).

M.D Abubakar holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in glass technology from the Ahmadu Bello University, a Master of Science Degree in International Affairs & Diplomacy and a Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Lagos State University.


Sunday Egede is a partner at the Prince Ebeano Supermarket chain of retail stores. He is an Alumni of Metropolitan School of Business Management in the United Kingdom. He formed a partnership in 2009 with his nephew, David Ojei, to establish the Prince Ebeano & Company, owners of the Prince Ebeano chain of supermarket which is currently Nigeria’s fastest growing indigenous supermarket chain. Prior to this, Sunday set up a provision store inside Isolo Market after a period of training with his brother. The store grew and De Prince Supermarket Gbagada as well as De Prince supermarket Magodo was established.

Under his leadership and guidance in his outlets, other successful retail outlet owners were trained including Ebeano Supermarket, Blenco Supermarket, Blossom Supermarket, Danny’s Supermarket, Chapter one Supermarket and host of others too numerous to mention.

Sunday Egede is able to spot business opportunities where none exists and his commitment to excellence is reflected in his various outlets.

He takes delight in seeing people succeed and is willing to offer advice and assistance where necessary. This is one of the reasons for a host of successful retail shop owners that have been trained under his watch.

David Chukwuma Ojei is a partner at the Prince Ebeano Supermarket chain of retail stores. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Nigeria. After several failed attempts to get a job in his professional line, he took up employment with a security company, out of which he saved enough money to start up a hair barbing saloon. He resigned from his hair barbing business and decided to go into trading while still earning some income from his barber’s shop. He eventually closed the Barber’s shop after he started his supermarket business.

David understudied his uncle, Sunday Egede’s trading business for a period of three months before he set up his first shop in Shomolu, Lagos State. A few months later, he opened a bigger shop about three times the size of the first, under the name, Ebeano Supermarket.

He later went on to open a bigger shop in Gbagada and a breakthrough store, Ebeano Supermaket in Ikota VGC , Lagos, that has enhanced innovation in the retail business along the Lekki axis of Lagos State.

He formed a partnership in 2009 with his Uncle, Sunday Egede, to establish Prince Ebeano & Company, owners of the Prince Ebeano chain of supermarkets which at the moment is Nigeria’s fastest growing indigenous supermarket chain.

David is very creative and innovative with his business ideas and his business model is now being replicated across retail stores in Lagos.
