Federal polytechnic of Ekowe, Bayelsa state is a premier oil and gas institution located in Bayelsa state, the southern part of Nigeria, with a purpose to develop specialized manpower in aspects of oil, gas and environmental studies.

This institution when compared to others differ in several ways as this institution is based on environmental and petroleum related courses, the fact that it is highly specialized in that field of study makes it flourish.

For candidates that are interested in these programs, they are expected to have 5 o-level credits including English language, Mathematics, Physics. Chemistry, biology and agricultural science at not more than 2 sittings in examinations i.e. WAEC, NABTEB, NECO and GCE (both NECO and WAEC)

And also in the unified tertiary matriculation examination, the score required from candidates is excepted to be from 150 and above.

The price of the Post-Utme form for this institution which is for the national diploma is 2,000 naira only excluding bank charges which can be at around 500 naira. Which is not on the high side.

To get admitted into this polytechnic the students are meant to perform very well and above average in their Post Utme examination, if not they might have to forfeit the admission and opportunity to gain admission under for the year under review.
